Biographical Sketch:
Ainsley, a scientific content editor and developer with Research Girl, Inc., is also a biological sciences and anthropology student on the pre-MD/PhD track with Southern Methodist University. For the past three years, she has worked as a research assistant across a variety of disciplines including adolescent developmental psychology, global health, and artificial intelligence. Currently, she serves as a research assistant in cancer biology studying the p53 tumor-suppressor gene and a clinical research intern with a focus on rare inherited collagenopathies.
Guided by her experience navigating a rare genetic disease, she is pursuing a career in genetic research and clinical practice with an emphasis on rare and undiagnosed genetic conditions. Her aim is to provide answers to patients and families for whom diagnosis and treatment have been elusive. As an experienced scientific communicator and a staunch advocate for accessibility in science, she hopes to leverage her unique experiences to raise awareness for and increase equity within scientific research.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, and playing with her dogs.
