Biographical Sketch:

Daisy Draper is an MSc student and science communicator with a commitment to equity in mental health. She earned her undergraduate degree in Marketing and Business from Western Governors University while serving six years in the Army National Guard. Her time in service shaped her academic trajectory, where she witnessed firsthand how systemic inequities disproportionately affect underprivileged individuals, many of whom turn to military service for financial support. This motivated her to pursue a new career in neuroscience and psychology.

Daisy is currently pursuing her MSc in Neuroscience and Psychology at King’s College London. She completed her Postgraduate Certificate in 2024 and is on track to graduate in 2026. Her current research focuses on how socioeconomic disadvantages influence brain development and adolescent mental health. She plans to continue this work through a PhD in Social Psychology at King’s, with the goal of translating scientific findings into actionable policy.

Daisy’s research interests center on how poverty and structural inequities shape mental health outcomes, particularly for marginalized communities. She is passionate about advocating for programs and interventions that uplift families facing systemic hardship.

Outside of school, Daisy is also a singer-songwriter and social media content creator. She uses her platform to raise awareness around neuroscience, mental health, and social psychology, while also using her music to fundraise for families in need.
