Biographical Sketch:
Devyani Pandey is a Scientific Resources Intern at Research Girl, Inc. and an incoming freshman at New York University, where she plans to study Neural Science, Philosophy, and Liberal Studies. A passionate advocate for creative science communication, Devyani’s work ranges from tutoring and creating Biology study materials for girls in Afghanistan, to illustrating for a mental health magazine—with the aim to make complex scientific ideas more accessible and engaging. Raised in Pune, India, Devyani is currently conducting independent research on the 2025 Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) endemic in the city, exploring its health implications, treatment accessibility, and the effectiveness of public health communication. She also runs a small business curating offline media like CDs and books—a passion that sparked her curiosity about how different forms of media consumption influence cognition and brain development, ultimately leading to her interest in Neural Science. She is also a vocalist and bass guitarist in local rock and alternative bands, and a long-distance runner with a deep love for marathons.
